Texas RangersvsAthletics
TEX 5/ATH 3
Things to say
The Texas Rangers beat the Athletics 5-3 on the road at Sutter Health Park.
01
opener
Rangers took it 5-3 out in Sacramento. Never really felt like the A's had it. Texas just did enough.
02
key player
Whoever Texas ran out there got into his stuff early and kept the heart of their order quiet. That's the ballgame right there.
03
hot take
Honestly the A's aren't as bad as 48-75 looks. They hang around, they just can't finish.
04
deep cut
People forget the A's are basically playing home games at a minor league park now. Sutter Health, like 14,000 seats. Wild.
05
exit
Anyway, Rangers are back over the hump chasing .500. Curious if they can keep it rolling this series.
The recap
Texas went into Sacramento and grabbed a 5-3 win over the A's, quietly padding the gap in a game they mostly controlled. The Rangers offense did just enough against the heart of the Athletics lineup, and their arms locked it down late once the bullpen took over.
Oakland's crew scratched out three but never got the big swing to left the yard when it mattered. Solid getaway-day work for a Texas club fighting to stay in the mix at 61-63.
