Kansas City RoyalsvsLos Angeles Angels
KC 0/LAA 1
Things to say
The Angels beat the Royals 1-0 at Angel Stadium to snap out of a rough stretch.
01
opener
Classic 1-0 grinder. Angels squeaked it out at home. If you blinked you missed the only run.
02
key player
Whoever LA ran out there dealt — one-run ball, got into his stuff early and never lost it. That's a WHIP you frame.
03
hot take
Honestly a 1-0 game is more fun than a 10-9 track meet. Every pitch mattered. Fight me.
04
deep cut
Both these teams are like 49-75, so nobody's chasing anything — and they still played it like October. Heart of the order still couldn't push a run across.
05
exit
Bullpens are gonna be fresh for the next one — should be a fun getaway day. We'll see if the bats wake up.
The recap
Pitcher's duel all the way at Angel Stadium, with the Angels squeaking past the Royals 1-0. Both staffs got into their stuff and kept the heart of the order quiet, so this one came down to a single run being enough.
Kansas City couldn't scratch anything across, and the Halos' bullpen slammed the door to lock it up. Not a slugfest, but a crisp win for a team that needed one.
