Kansas City RoyalsvsLos Angeles Dodgers
KC 5/LAD 6
Things to say
The Dodgers edged the Royals 6-5 at Dodger Stadium.
01
opener
Man, that one came down to the wire. Dodgers took it 6-5 at home. Royals hung around way longer than anybody figured.
02
key player
The heart of the order carried LA all night — every big hit came from the middle of that lineup.
03
hot take
Honestly the Royals outplayed their record here. Fifty-win team giving the best in the West everything they had? That's not nothing.
04
deep cut
The real story was the bullpen. One-run game like that, you live and die by the arms out of the pen, and LA barely closed the door.
05
exit
Anyway, next one's gonna be a different animal — I wanna see if KC can steal one before they head home.
The recap
Dodgers grinded out a 6-5 nail-biter over the Royals at home, the kind of one-run game that keeps you sweating till the last out. Kansas City hung around all night and made LA earn it, but the heart of the order came through when it mattered and the bullpen slammed the door late.
Turning point was clearly the back half of the game when the Dodgers found a way to nudge ahead and never gave the lead back. KC drops another one and stays buried at 49-71, while LA keeps rolling toward October.
