Los Angeles SparksvsConnecticut Sun

LA 81/CON 84

WNBA League Pass/Spectrum Sports NetPeoplesBank Arena
Things to say

Connecticut Sun beat the Los Angeles Sparks 84-81 at PeoplesBank Arena.

01
opener
Sun took down the Sparks 84-81 last night. Tight one all the way, came down to the final possession. Connecticut finally got one to fall their way.
02
key player
Aneesah Morrow was a monster down low — 17 and 14, just ate them up on the glass.
03
hot take
Sparks have no business losing to a 2-8 team. LA's supposed to be the team on the rise and they let Connecticut hang around all night.
04
deep cut
Rae Burrell led LA with 16 off what's been a quiet stretch for her — Hamby only pulled down 7 boards, which is why they got cooked in the paint.
05
exit
Anyway, we'll see if the Sparks can shake it off — schedule doesn't get any easier from here.
The recap

Connecticut squeaked out an 84-81 win at home and finally got off the schneid, picking up just their second W of the year against a Sparks squad that's been scrappy at 4-4. Aneesah Morrow absolutely ate them up in the paint with 17 and 14 boards, basically willing the Sun to the finish line on the glass.

Rae Burrell led LA with 16 buckets but nobody else really got cooking, and a three-point game in the final minute means somebody on the Sparks couldn't get the dagger to fall. Sun fans will take it any way they can get it right now.
