Toronto TempovsAtlanta Dream
TOR 95/ATL 107
Things to say
Atlanta Dream beat the Toronto Tempo 107-95 at home.
01
opener
Dream handled the Tempo at home, 107-95. Never really in doubt after the third. Atlanta's just deeper right now.
02
key player
Rhyne Howard led Atlanta with 22, but Angel Reese was the story with 14 boards. She just ate them up on the glass all night.
03
hot take
Marina Mabrey dropped 36 and still took the L. When your best guy goes off like that and you lose by 12, that's a roster problem, not an effort problem.
04
deep cut
Jordin Canada quietly ran the show, nine dimes and zero panic. Toronto had nobody who could stay in front of her.
05
exit
Tempo are 10-22, so it's about next year for them. Dream's the one I'd keep an eye on come playoff time.
The recap
Atlanta handled business at home, 107-95, and it wasn't as close as the double-digit gap makes it sound. Marina Mabrey put on an absolute clinic for Toronto, dropping 36 and getting buckets from everywhere, but she got zero help and it showed.
Atlanta just spread the love around, Rhyne Howard with 22, Jordin Canada dishing 9, and Angel Reese cleaning the glass with 14 boards to control the paint. When one player has to do everything against a balanced squad, you take the L, and Toronto took it.
