The recap
Detroit came into Sacramento on a getaway day and turned it into batting practice, hanging a 13-spot on the Athletics in a 13-1 laugher. The Tigers' bats worked the count all night and left the yard early enough that this one was over before you settled in.
The A's managed a single run and never got anybody untracked at the plate, their bullpen just mopping up an ugly one. When you put up a crooked number that fast, the rest is a formality.
