Detroit TigersvsTexas Rangers
DET 4/TEX 10
Things to say
Texas beat Detroit 10-4 at Globe Life Field to close out the series.
01
opener
Rangers just teed off, 10-4 over Detroit. It was 4-4 for a while, then Texas hung a crooked number and it was over. Getaway day, everybody wanted to go home.
02
key player
The heart of the Rangers order carried it — multi-hit night, a couple left the yard. When the middle of that lineup gets into their stuff, forget it.
03
hot take
Honestly Detroit's starter didn't even pitch that bad. Their manager went to the pen way too early and it fell apart from there.
04
deep cut
Watch the walk column. Texas kept working counts, boosted the OBP, and Detroit's bullpen just could not throw strikes late.
05
exit
Anyway, Rangers are back over .500 — curious if they can keep it rolling into the next series.
The recap
Texas took Detroit to the woodshed at Globe Life, 10-4, in a game that stopped being competitive early. The Rangers' bats got hot and stayed hot, piling on ten runs while the Tigers' pitching couldn't find a way to slow the heart of the order down.
Detroit scratched across four but never really threatened once Texas built the cushion. Getaway-day baseball, and the home crowd went home happy.
