Tigers rolled into the Trop and hung an 8-spot on the Rays while pitching a shutout — not the script anyone had for a 24-38 club walking into a first-place team. Detroit's bats got into Tampa's stuff early and never let the bullpen settle, and once it was 8-0 the Rays were basically playing out the string.
