MLB The marquee game tonight is the Los Angeles Dodgers heading to Chase Field to face the Arizona Diamondbacks — the Dodgers at 38-22 are one of the hottest teams in baseball, and the heart of their order has been left the yard with regularity, so watch the Diamondbacks' bullpen early if their starter can't go deep. Also keep an eye on the Cleveland Guardians at Yankee Stadium, where the Yankees open as heavy favorites at -207 but the Guardians at 34-27 have the lineup to give any pitching staff fits, and a close game late means both managers will be going to the pen in a hurry. The Atlanta Braves at 40-20 are the class of the league right now, so the Toronto Blue Jays visiting Truist Park is about as close to a getaway day situation as you'll find — unless the Blue Jays can get into the Braves' stuff early and steal one.

NBA Tonight on ABC, the New York Knicks head to Frost Bank Center to face the San Antonio Spurs in what should be the marquee game of the week — San Antonio's 62-20 record says everything you need to know about how locked in they've been all year. The Spurs are four-and-a-half point favorites, but the Knicks at 53-29 are no slouches, and New York is not flying to San Antonio to take the L. With the over/under sitting at 218.5, expect this one to be a buckets-fest, and whoever gets going in the paint early is going to be real hard to stop.

NHL Tonight's marquee game has the Vegas Golden Knights skating into Lenovo Center to face the Carolina Hurricanes on ABC, and with Carolina installed as heavy favorites at -162, the Hurricanes will be leaning on their suffocating defensive system to clog the slot and neutralize whatever the Knights throw at the crease. Vegas finished the regular season at 39-26-17 and will need their power play clicking and their penalty kill sharp to steal one on the road against a Carolina squad that went 53-22-7 and is as dangerous in the offensive zone as any team left standing. If the Knights are going to pull off the upset, expect it to come down to a snipe in the third or an OT winner — this one has the makings of a tight, grinding game that could easily go either way with three minutes left.

WNBA The marquee matchup tonight is the Las Vegas Aces heading into crypto.com Arena to take on the Los Angeles Sparks — two .500-ish teams where a loss really stings this early, and the Aces are favored by 7.5 with an over/under pushing 177, so expect buckets in the paint all night. The late West Coast slate also has the Portland Fire rolling into Chase Center against the Golden State Valkyries, a battle of two teams hovering around .500 where Portland's 6-4 record gives them a slight edge on paper even as 9.5-point road underdogs. If you want the tightest game of the night, the Chicago Sky and Washington Mystics are a coin flip — Chicago favored by just 1.5 with the highest over/under of the early games, so somebody's going home with an ugly plus/minus and a bad taste in their mouth.
