Minnesota VikingsvsNew York Giants
MIN 13/NYG 10
Things to say
The Vikings edged the Giants 13-10 at MetLife Stadium.
01
opener
Low-scoring slog, 13-10 Vikings. Neither offense could really move the ball. It came down to a late Wentz touchdown throw.
02
key player
Myles Price was the difference — 4 catches, 51 yards and the 1-yard TD grab that won it. Little guy showed up when it mattered.
03
hot take
Giants outgained the vibe but lost the game. When you settle for field goals in the red zone, that's how you drop a one-score game.
04
deep cut
Will Reichard drilled one from 54 for Minnesota. That leg alone is worth a roster spot, and it kept them in it before Wentz finished it.
05
exit
Anyway, defense wins games like that. Curious to see if either QB room shakes out before Week 1.
The recap
Ugly, grind-it-out football at MetLife, and the Vikings snuck out with a 13-10 win. Neither offense could really move the ball early — this thing lived on field goals and short fields until Carson Wentz punched in a 1-yard strike to Myles Price for the go-ahead score.
That flipped a 10-6 hole into a 13-10 lead, and Minnesota's defense made it stick down the stretch. Jaxson Dart's early touchdown pass gave the Giants life, but they couldn't find the end zone again when it mattered.
