Cleveland edged Chicago 6-5 in a back-and-forth getaway-day scrap that came down to the final at-bat. Neither starter went deep enough to matter, so this one turned into a bullpen knife fight, and the Guardians pen just barely held the last handful of outs.
The White Sox kept clawing back and had the tying run in range late, but Cleveland got the one clutch swing that mattered to swing it a run their way. Nasty little one-run game where both clubs are basically dead even in the standings, and the Guardians walk off Progressive with the split-avoiding win.
