Yankees went into Nationals Park on a getaway day and grabbed a 5-3 win to keep the good times rolling. Washington hung around all afternoon, but New York's bats did just enough against the heart of the order, and the bullpen slammed the door late.
The Nats couldn't cash in when it mattered and dropped back under .500. Solid, workmanlike win for a Yankees club that's now sitting pretty at 54-42.
