Daily sports news cheat sheets for people who want to talk sports
19 games played, by sport.
MLB The game of the day is already in the bottom of the ninth at Dodger Stadium, where the Arizona Diamondbacks are three outs away from handing the Los Angeles Dodgers — the best record in the National League at 61-35 — a 5-3 loss at home. The Dodgers need two runs to tie it, so the heart of that order has one last crack at the Arizona bullpen before this one's a wrap. If Los Angeles can get into the closer's stuff and string a couple together, a walk-off would make this a Sunday night people actually talk about come Monday morning.
WNBA The marquee game tonight is Indiana Fever versus Las Vegas Aces on NBC at 9 PM Eastern — the Aces are one of the hottest teams in the league at 17-6 and sitting on a 5.5-point spread, so the Fever are going to have to go bucket-for-bucket to hang in this one. Keep an eye on the first game too: Dallas Wings host the Chicago Sky at 7 PM, and with Dallas at 15-8 and laying nearly 10 points, the Wings are expected to eat the Sky up in the paint. Tomorrow night the Minnesota Lynx — also 17-6 and a 12.5-point favorite — host the Phoenix Mercury, so if you're tracking who's got the best record in the W right now, Sunday's winner between Vegas and Minnesota is going to have something to say about it.
