MLB The marquee game tonight is the Atlanta Braves hosting the Milwaukee Brewers — two of the best records in baseball going head to head, and whoever the Brewers send to the mound will need to keep the ball in the yard against a Braves lineup that can punish anything left over the heart of the plate. Out west, the Los Angeles Dodgers host the Baltimore Orioles in a late nightcap; the Dodgers have the best record in the game at 48-27, so the Orioles' bullpen will have to be sharp if their starter can't go deep and keep that lineup off the basepaths. Also worth watching: the New York Yankees, riding a 45-27 record, open a home series against the Cincinnati Reds tonight, and after the White Sox get out of town it'll be a proper test to see if the Reds' rotation can hold down a lineup that's been putting up crooked numbers all season.

WNBA Tonight's marquee game is the Atlanta Dream visiting the Indiana Fever at Gainbridge Fieldhouse — two of the hottest teams in the league right now, with Atlanta sitting at 9-4 and Indiana right behind at 9-5, and the Dream are favored by a bucket and a half. Looking ahead to Friday, the Minnesota Lynx head to Chase Center to take on the Golden State Valkyries in the late game — Minnesota is the class of the league at 12-3 and favored by 2.5, so watch whether the Valkyries can hang with them in the paint or if the Lynx just run an absolute clinic on the road. Also on Friday, the New York Liberty host the Washington Mystics at Barclays Center, and with the Liberty favored by 11.5, that one could get ugly fast.

World Cup Canada is already giving Qatar an absolute paddling at halftime — three-nil at BC Place with the second half still to come, and Qatar will need something extraordinary to avoid going home without a point. The marquee fixture of the next 24 hours is the United States hosting Australia at Lumen Field, two sides who both won their openers and will be fighting to stay top of their group with a result. Brazil also get their second crack at the tournament against Haiti in Philadelphia, and with the odds at minus-one-thousand you'd expect the five-time world champions to find the net early and often — the only question is how clean the sheet ends up.
