The morning line

MLB The marquee matchup tonight is the Atlanta Braves rolling into Citi Field to face the New York Mets — the Braves are the hottest team in baseball at 45-23 and the heart of their order has been leaving the yard all season, so the Mets bullpen is going to be tested early and often. Out west, the Los Angeles Dodgers head to Rate Field to take on the Chicago White Sox, and the line has L.A. as heavy favorites at -156, meaning Vegas expects the Dodgers' rotation to go deep and keep the Sox off the board. Keep an eye on the Milwaukee Brewers hosting the Philadelphia Phillies tonight and again tomorrow — Milwaukee is one of the best stories in the NL at 41-25 and their pitching staff has the kind of WHIP that makes opposing lineups look lost.

NBA The marquee game Sunday night is the New York Knicks traveling to San Antonio to take on the Spurs at Frost Bank Center on ABC, and at 62-20 the San Antonio Spurs have been an absolute clinic all season — they come in as 5.5-point favorites and they have earned every bit of that number. The Knicks at 53-29 are no pushovers and they can absolutely get buckets, but stopping whatever San Antonio has been cooking up in the paint all year is a different ask entirely. If New York is going to steal one on the road, somebody is going to have to have ice in his veins down the stretch because this Spurs squad does not take the L lightly.

WNBA The marquee matchup this weekend is Minnesota Lynx at Las Vegas Aces on CBS — the Lynx come in at 10-2, the hottest team in the league, going up against a 9-3 Aces squad that's essentially a must-win situation for Vegas to keep pace. The Aces are favored by 2.5 at home, so expect a physical, low-margin game where every bucket in the paint is going to matter. Don't sleep on Indiana Fever at Connecticut Sun either — the Fever are rolling at 7-5 and the Sun at 2-12 are desperate, which means Connecticut has nothing to lose and could come out swinging.
