The other one to circle is the Atlanta Braves at the San Diego Padres later tonight — the Braves have been rolling at 48-29 and a well-rested starter who goes seven could make it a short night for the Padres' bullpen.

WNBA The marquee matchup is the New York Liberty visiting the Las Vegas Aces tonight on USA Network — two of the best teams in the WNBA going at it with the Aces sitting at 12-4 and favored by 2.5, so expect a tightly contested game where every bucket in the paint matters. Later on the West Coast, the Atlanta Dream (12-4) head into Chase Center as slight favorites over the Golden State Valkyries, which tells you how well Atlanta has been playing — that's a sneaky good late-night game. The Indiana Fever are also hosting the Phoenix Mercury, and with Indiana favored by 8.5, the Fever are expected to eat them up, but Mercury fans are hoping their squad can keep it close and avoid taking a brutal L on the road.

World Cup The marquee match today is Brazil taking on Scotland at Hard Rock Stadium, with Brazil needing a result to steady their tournament after an inconsistent group stage and Scotland looking to keep their knockout hopes alive. Canada versus Switzerland at BC Place is the other must-watch, a genuine coin-flip between two sides level on points where a draw might not be enough for either — expect both teams going for the win rather than settling for nil-nil. Mexico are already through and coast in against Czechia tonight, but keep an eye on Croatia and Panama, currently goalless in the first half and both desperately needing to find the net to avoid an early exit.
